Zoe Kompst

Zoe Kompst is a two-spirit person from Musqueam who lives in Vancouver, BC. Their work aims to revitalize traditional art forms to create contemporary wearable and decorative pieces. Through various mediums-cedar bark weaving, beading, and natural dyes- Zoe takes pride in traditional materials as a way to connect to the land that they come from.

YVR Art Foundation acknowledges that its offices are located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. The Foundation’s work and outreach spans the territories of many Nations throughout what is now known as British Columbia and the Yukon, and our programs exist for the purpose of supporting BC and Yukon First Nations artists with grants, awards, exhibitions and research opportunities.
