Over the next six months, I hope to create an adorned hoodie with furs, hide, and beads. The purpose of this project is to connect traditional art techniques with modern streetwear. The hoodie will be created entirely out of hide and lined with fleece so it may be word during the cold winter months. The whole piece will be decorated with intricate beadwork and the cuffs and hood will be lined with fur. I will also create a traditional design inspired by the Kwanlin people that will be block printed onto the back of the piece. This piece will highlight both the beauty and the functionality of Yukon First Nations garment-making.
