Flight Spindle Whorl
by Susan A. Point
Carved by Susan A. Point, and located in the Musqueam Welcome Area, this is the world’s largest Spindle Whorl. This giant six-metre circular contemporary red cedar carving depicts two eagles, two human forms, salmon, and the moon, sun and earth. These traditional images and contemporary style are representative of the Coast Salish people, who still live and fish along the Fraser River today.
