Display Case Program
The International Terminal Building celebrates nature and culture in its thematic and interior finishing. In particular, it features what is created artistically in British Columbia. To complement the permanent art collection, YVR has located display cases throughout the International Departure Building, which showcase the work of BC artists. This rotating display program provides BC artists with the opportunity to exhibit and potentially sell their work to millions of local and international travelers. It gives travelers an opportunity to get a glimpse into BC’s vibrant visual arts community and to purchase work by BC Artists. YVR or YVRAF do not receive commissions on artwork sold through the Display Case program
The display cases are located in the International and US departure gates (post-security).
- The display cases are freestanding with an interior space measuring 66” (h) x 45” (w) x 29” (d) with a door opening of 66” (h) x 35” (w). All cases are equipped with directed lighting, ultra-violet protection and two sets of locking mechanisms.
- Exhibitions rotate throughout the Display Cases quarterly.
- Artwork inside the display case will be credited with the artist’s/gallery’s name, the title of the work, the medium, a contact name, address, phone number, email address, website, etc., for further inquiries. At this time, YVR does not charge any fees or commissions.
- Artworks are insured while on display.
- To display the works, plinths for sculptures and interior walls for two-dimensional works are provided.
- It is the artist’s responsibility to deliver the work to YVR. YVR will be responsible for the return of the work.
- Works are installed, maintained and handled by professional technicians.
If you would like to submit works for consideration, please include the following:
- Photos of the work(s) proposed for display.
- A description of the work including: size, medium, subject matter and value.
- An artist’s statement or background on the artist and their work.
- A self-addressed stamped envelope if information is forwarded by mail and you would like it returned.
Submissions are accepted at any time for future exhibition consideration. However, due to the large volume of submissions, we will contact you only when a display opportunity for your work is available.
