Scholarship Criteria

The applicant can propose attendance at workshops or schools of art, or to work with masters, mentors or elders in particular media. Within a period of one year, the artist must complete a project that demonstrates the development of skills and techniques learned as a result of the scholarship. This work will be displayed at the Vancouver International Airport.

YVRAF Scholarships are available to individuals meeting the following criteria:

• Aboriginal residing in British Columbia.
• Youth 25 years of age or younger.
• Emerging artists who can demonstrate potential in visual arts, in the Northwest Coast style.
• Emerging artists who can create projects that are suitable for display in public buildings.

Scholarship Amount

Annual scholarships up to $5,000 are awarded for eligible activities.
